‘Prabhu Yeshu Janmotsav - (PYJ)’ is a platform that provides an opportunity for all of us to come together as one United Church and openly declare & share the very embodiment and personification of the message of Peace, Faith, Hope, and Love to a strife-torn world during the Christmas season to the city of Mumbai through the organizing of the annual spectacular Christmas Music extravaganza to celebrate the arrival of the Christmas season in the great city of dreams and the financial & commercial gateway of India – Mumbai on the second Sunday of December every year our city needs to hear.

 

In these present times, this is the only open-air venue available to the Christian community to preach the Gospel freely presenting hope to a world devastated with despair & despondency and with the sanction of the High Court it is the only Public event, that brings the entire Inter-Denominational Christian community together in Mumbai to rejoice and proclaim the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

 

As you would be aware this Christmas Music Festival was started in 1965 by

Lady Tara Cherian, the wife of the erstwhile governor of Maharashtra P.V. Cherian and the first woman Mayor of Chennai in Independent India. It has been our privilege and honour to host the festival each year with your help and support.

The event has grown in stature every successive year without fail for the last five decades and is the only program which involves all Churches in Mumbai to come together to rejoice in the Birth of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Multitudes from all walks of life gather to celebrate Christmas, at this festival representing God's love for all mankind.

 

A crowd of more than 30,000 witnesses the event, enjoying the songs, dance, skits and gospel word proclaiming the message of Jesus.
